More ski lifts open in Madonna di Campiglio

Madonna di Campiglio ski lift opening

The last two weekends of November marked the first ski days of the 2016-2017 season in Madonna di Campiglio.
An extraordinary opening that delighted more than 5,100 skiers over just four days, who were able to enjoy an excellent snowpack and perfectly groomed slopes in the Grostè area.

Lift rides recorded so far by Funivie Madonna di Campiglio Spa total 55,669: the ambitious yet entirely achievable goal for the season is to break last season’s attendance record of 1,224,519 first entries and over 9,983,301 lift rides.

The low temperatures of the past 48 hours, dropping as low as -13°C, have made it possible to produce top-quality man-made snow, with over 2,400 cubic meters of water per hour sprayed by snow guns positioned across all four sectors of the ski area.

The coming hours will be decisive in determining the final number of open slopes, though the ski-in, ski-out link between the Grostè, Spinale, and Pradalago sectors is already confirmed, with the 5 Laghi sector set to join them in the coming days.

Ten lifts will be open: the Spinale, Pradalago, and Grosté 1st and 2nd section gondola lifts, the Grosté six-seater chairlift, and the Fortini, Zeledria, Rododendro, Boch, and Nube d’Oro four-seater chairlifts, with guaranteed ski-to-the-bottom access both to the Fortini area and into town.

For the long Immaculate Conception weekend, the entire Campiglio ski area will be open and linked via the Genziana slope to the Folgarida-Marilleva ski area.

Please note that starting Saturday, December 3, low-season rates will apply through December 23, 2016.

Operating lifts will be open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. non-stop.
