Val Gardena ski lift opening

val gardena lifts openingA difficult start to the season for the Alps and an even tougher one for the Dolomites, where snow is scarce and lift openings remain the main topic.
After the 2013/14 winter that literally buried the Italian mountains under snow, this new season began under the sign of rain and thermal inversion.

However, in the past few hours winter has returned to take center stage and ski resorts have wasted no time, among them Val Gardena, which has opened its first ski lifts in record time.

Thanks to intensive work by the lift operators, the first ski slopes have been open since December 11.
Temperatures have dropped significantly and the artificial snowmaking system has been activated, making it possible to start producing programmed snow and achieve the impossible.
