An important benchmark during the golden years of skiing on the Plateau, the ski resort had fallen into abandonment. Thanks to the new project, a challenging redevelopment process began, and now the snows of Cima Larici have come back to life.
Another major contribution to the development of skiing in this area arrives with the new four-seater chairlift, which will be inaugurated on Saturday, March 8.
It is a fixed-grip LST Ropeway Systems four-seater chairlift equipped with a loading conveyor carpet.
The new lift takes the name Asiago 2000 from the surface lift it replaces and boasts an hourly capacity of 1,200 passengers. The top station sits at 1,767 m and the bottom station at 1,647 m, for a vertical rise of 119 m and a total length of 644 meters. It serves the two blue runs: Asiago 2000 and Direttissima.
It represents a major step forward in quality for Val Formica and Cima Larici, which can now count on one of the most modern lifts on the entire Asiago Plateau.
Free skiing and ski lessons
For the inauguration of the four-seater chairlift on Saturday, March 8, visitors will be able to ski for free and take free lessons with the Val Formica ski and snowboard school. In the afternoon, the valley will come alive with music and shows, while in the evening the ski instructors will cap off the celebration in style with a picturesque torchlight descent down the ski slopes.
The ski season at Cima Larici will continue until Easter thanks to the abundant snowfalls that have brought a full 4 meters of snow this season.
