Bormio opens its lifts on November 19: this is the news coming from the lift company of the Lombardy ski resort. The weather conditions brought a little snow at altitude, then the almost wintry temperatures made it possible to start the snowmaking programme, thus allowing the highest area to open; Bormio 3000.
You go up to 3,000 m and ski down towards Conca Valbella at 2,550 m; the lifts available will be the Bormio-Bormio 2000 gondola lift (but only at weekends), the Bormio 2000-3000 cable car, the Valbella-Bormio 3000 chairlift and the Marmotta carpet lift at 2,000 m.
Although this November has not been one of the best in terms of snow, with the major investment in new snowmaking systems and the freezing temperatures, Bormio has once again achieved its goal of being one of the first ski areas in Lombardy to open its doors.
