While down in the valley, around St. Moritz, autumn is still showing itself at its most beautiful, on the Diavolezza, from October 22, 2011, skiers and snowboarding enthusiasts can already take on the first runs of the 2011/2012 winter season. Every day, from as early as 7:45 a.m., the upper slopes and the Diavolezza Firn piste guarantee ideal conditions for skiing and snowboarding, as well as perfect snow.
Diavolezza is one of the ideal destinations for early-winter skiing. Thanks to the high altitude, the snow is already in excellent condition, and skiing in October/November has nothing to envy compared with what you can enjoy in January in the very best snow conditions. There is never a shortage of snow, thanks to the shape of the terrain and to the geographical position that makes the Engadina one of the snowiest areas in Europe.
So the Alta Engadina will once again be the first ski region to open in Graubünden, and one of the first in the whole of Switzerland. Of course, everyone is also welcome at the cosy Berghaus Diavolezza mountain lodge.
