The Adamello Ski area beats everyone to the punch by announcing the opening of its ski lifts, Pontedilegno-Tonale, as early as November 1, and in the event of heavy snowfall the ski area will not hesitate to open the slopes even earlier.
The Presena glacier is already covered in white and October snowfalls will significantly increase the snowpack depth.
Furthermore, the ski area reports that the ski lifts are already ready to start for the new season.
A decision that appears in line with the one taken by Bormio, which announced the opening of its lifts for November 15, although it seems the opening may be brought forward.
In short, it almost looks like a race to see who reopens first, though it is also true that Bormio and Adamello are ski areas that include a glacier and therefore snow conditions are excellent for almost the entire year—in other words, a luxury they can well afford!
