At the foot of the Matterhorn, the late-October storm unleashed all its power in the form of snow—enough snow to completely transform the landscape and allow an early opening of the ski lifts.
Starting Saturday, November 3, 2018, skiing is back in Cervinia—not only on the Swiss side (Plateau Rosà Glacier), but also on the Italian side.
That is the big news that November brings: the chance to get back on skis on the Italian side. From Saturday, November 3, chairlifts will be open at Plan Maison, Fornet, and Bontadini, along with the La Vieille surface lift and the magic carpet at Plan Maison. Skiing will be open on slopes 6, 6.0, 6.00, 8, and 8bis.
For this early part of the season, Cervinia’s lift company has set the daily skipass price at €34, the morning/afternoon pass at €28.50, and the 2-day pass at €63.00.
A deep snowpack and favorable weather forecasts should ensure a great start to the season—enjoy getting back on your skis at the foot of the Matterhorn.
