Interview: the new gondola lift and what’s new in the Roccaraso Alto Sangro ski area

To mark the construction of a new cableway that will link the Pizzalto station to the Gravare station, from where another section will depart up to an altitude of 2,000 meters serving various slopes in the Alto Sangro ski area—which includes the resorts of Roccaraso Aremogna, Pizzalto, Pratello, and Rivisondoli:

For the first time, a ski resort met with its users, represented in this case by a delegation from the Facebook group “Oggi è così… si scia a Roccaraso, Pizzalto, Pratello e Rivisondoli…”
The meeting served not only to present the progress of the works, but also to explain the technical details of the technologically advanced new snowmaking system, which ranks among the very best in Italy.

Attending on behalf of the consortium were Director Venturino Margadonna, Head of Communications Daniele Ruscitti, Events Manager Gianmaria Fisco, and Director of Works Eng. Marco Cordeschi, alongside group administrators Aldo Amodio and Rino Barbato and 20 guests.
The discussion proved very interesting and featured in particular Eng. Cordeschi, who first outlined the progress of the works—now nearing final inspection and ready for the imminent start of the winter season—and then answered the guests’ numerous questions, explaining how a snowmaking system and cableway installations are managed.

Daniele Ruscitti introduced the ski area’s staff and welcomed the guests, while Gianmaria Fisco presented the new features, such as free Wi-Fi in all mountain huts, the children’s play area at the Monte Pratello station, and initiatives such as snowshoe hikes and mountain hut dinners.

Rino Barbato and Aldo Amodio introduced the “Oggi è così” group to the consortium, outlining past initiatives as well as those planned for this winter—in particular the collaboration with Mondoneve web and the synergy with the group “Quelli che si alzano presto per andare a sciare” (Those who get up early to go skiing). The setting for this event was the brand-new Pratello Center, which will enhance the resort by hosting events and meetings right on the slopes.
