Night skiing is one of those things you have to try at least once in your life. Skiing at night offers unique emotions: feeling the edges of your skis cutting into the snow beneath your feet, the cool night breeze, the starry sky, the view down the valley with the village lights reflecting on the snow, and the silence of the high mountains.
The snow nights “nights on the snow” are one of the Engadine’s most successful initiatives; the chance to ski at night is a feature the Swiss ski area has offered for some time and brings back every season to great interest.
This rendezvous between the starry sky and the ski slopes takes place every Friday (except December 30) from 19:00 until 01:00, last ride up at 00:40, in December and January; while in February, March and April the floodlit slopes will be open every Friday from 19:00 to 02:00, with the last ride up at 01:40.
It’s a different way to end the week and start the weekend, skiing along the longest floodlit slope in Switzerland (4.2 km). The first Snow Night at Corvatsch will be possible from December 9. All in a magical atmosphere transformed by the white blanket of snow and the starry sky of the Engadine.
The ski pass will cost CHF 25.- for adults, CHF 15.- for children up to 12 years old and CHF 20.- for groups of 15 people. Besides an attractive price, the Engadine also offers a loyalty card: if you take part in the Snow Night 4 times, the fifth is free – just ask for it at the ticket office. And for those who don’t want to go hungry, there is the Snow Night Ticket, a tasty dinner of cheese fondues (minimum 2 people) at the Murtèl restaurant, at the mid-station, for CHF 45.- per person.
If you too can’t wait to ski under the fantastic sky of the Upper Engadine, you can visit the official website for more information.
