The Dolomites, recognised by Unesco as a World Heritage Site, combine landscapes of enchanting beauty with some of the most comprehensive services for tourists, kilometres of slopes for those who love sport and snow, and accommodation to suit every taste.
There are many resorts equipped to welcome visitors to these magical places and to offer them the thrill of skiing and fun on the slopes.
Among the various resorts in the Dolomites we find Madonna di Campiglio, the pearl of the Brenta, one of the most renowned ski resorts in the entire Alpine arc.
Madonna di Campiglio itself has now been linked to nearby Pinzolo by a new gondola lift, called Pinzolo-Campiglio Express, which was inaugurated on December 22. The gondola will connect the two villages in about a quarter of an hour; the new lift winds along a route of almost 5 km and has a total vertical drop of over 1,000 m.
It consists of four stations: a departure and arrival station at Poza dai Fò (at an altitude of 1,664 metres); a mid-station at Plaza (1,140 m), a second mid-station at Colarin (1,512 m) and an arrival and departure station at Patascoss (1,753 m).
The gondola is panoramic and will offer a spectacular view and a breathtaking panorama of the Brenta Dolomites.
The great advantage of this new lift is that it links the two ski resorts of Pinzolo and Madonna di Campiglio, thus offering skiers a single large ski area from Folgarida-Marilleva, in Val di Sole, all the way to Pinzolo, for a total of 150 km of slopes.
During this winter, which until a few days ago had been stingy with snow, it was thought that the new lift would be inaugurated without snow.
In the last few days, however, the new gondola was inaugurated, so to speak, by the first heavy snowfalls of the winter, a sign of a season full of skiing and fun.
