Starting Sunday, December 13, 2015, the Sellaronda will be open in both directions. The roughly 42 km ski circuit around the Sella massif thus rounds out the offering of open slopes and lifts in the Dolomites, bringing the total to 454 km of skiable runs and 250 open lifts.
Crossing four Dolomite passes around the Sella massif, the Sellaronda is regarded as one of the most beautiful and spectacular ski circuits in the world. It can easily be completed in a single day, skiing through the four Ladin valleys of Val Gardena, Alta Badia, Arabba, and Val di Fassa. Skiers can set off from any of the four valleys and travel in either direction: orange signs mark the clockwise route, while green signs mark the counterclockwise route. The circuit covers a total distance of 40 km, including 26 km of ski runs, and is suitable for intermediate skiers, as all connecting runs are rated “blue” or “red.”
Cold temperatures currently allow snowmaking crews to continue producing additional snow, paving the way for further slope openings over the coming days.
