NEW OPENINGS IN CERVINIA FROM THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 17, AND FROM SATURDAY LIFTS ALSO OPEN IN VALTOURNENCHE ALONG WITH THE LINK
The winter season at the foot of the Matterhorn is getting off to a strong and early start. Starting Saturday, November 19, the link between Cervinia and Valtournenche will open, a full week ahead of schedule. Yet the link with Valtournenche (the link with Zermatt has been open since late October) is not the only good news of this mid-November week.
Starting this Thursday, November 17, in addition to skiing on the Plateau Rosà glacier and the upper section of the Ventina slope (returning to Cime Bianche Laghi), it will also be possible to ski in the Plan Maison ski area (slope “6”), with the “Plan Maison” and “Fornet” chairlifts in operation as well as the “Plan Maison” magic carpet for beginners (free of charge).
On Saturday, in addition to the aforementioned open link with Valtournenche, skiers will be able to ski all the way down to Cervinia village via slope “5”. The Cretaz ski area will also open, with the “Pancheron” (slope “26”), “Cretaz”, and “Campetto” (slope “2”) chairlifts and the “Cretaz” magic carpet (free of charge).
In the Valtournenche ski area, slopes “4”, “7”, “10”, “11”, “12”, and “15” will open on Saturday, served by the “Motta”, “Du Col”, and “Bec Carré” chairlifts, as well as the “Sometta” drag lift (for the link with Cervinia) and the “Desert” and “Campetto” magic carpets.
The Cervino lift company also announces that, starting Saturday, November 19, the Cretaz ticket offices in Cervinia village and those in Valtournenche at the gondola departure station will open.
Cervinia will not be the only resort opening its lifts this weekend; in our ski lift openings section you can find all the details on other openings scheduled for the coming days.
