Fresh snow brings skiers to the slopes and the winter season takes off!

Ski season

ski season If the Immaculate Conception long weekend had left some doubts about turnout at ski resorts, this weekend swept away all fears and saw the takeoff of the new ski season.
Perhaps it was the snow, which fell heavily across all the Alps even at low altitudes, or perhaps the Christmas atmosphere, but what is certain is that this mid-December weekend recorded strong turnout on the ski slopes and the mass return of snow enthusiasts to all ski resorts across Italy.

The main attraction was perhaps the snow which in recent weeks, combined with freezing temperatures (-20 degrees recorded in some areas of Valtellina), brought the Alps into full winter conditions. In the mountains, snowfalls raged throughout the weekend with a very positive outcome: some resorts recorded more than 50cm of fresh snow, with an average hovering around 30-40cm at altitudes of 1400-1500 meters from east to west. We can say that by now there is no shortage of snow, and in fact ski areas have opened almost all their slopes, already offering kilometers of skiable terrain in very good condition.

A different yet still positive situation for low-altitude ski resorts (below 1400m): here too there is snow, even though rain in recent hours has revised the snow report downward; however, thanks to the snowfalls of the previous days and the low temperatures that allowed snowmaking systems to operate, we can say that even in the smaller valleys the season has gotten off on the right foot.
