After the opening of Diavolezza on October 22, one of the first ski areas to start the new winter season, the Upper Engadine is getting ready to open the doors of the Corvatsch cable car, departing from Surlej. Skiers will be able to carve through the snow from Saturday, November 26, 2011 and so begin the 11/12 ski season.
The lifts open will be the Surlej – Murtèl cable car (mid-station) from 8:20 a.m., the Alp Surlej chairlift and the Chastelets slope down to Alp Surlej (the run down to the valley will remain closed).
Also worth mentioning is the Snow Night, which from December 9, 2011, on Fridays (except December 30), lets you ski at night too, a unique experience we recommend to everyone!
With this opening, St. Moritz and the Engadine are getting further and further into the heart of winter, ready for a new ski season.
