It was Claudio Cassi of Atletica Vittorio Veneto who triumphed in the seventh edition of the Ciaspolissima in Valbruna with a time of 22 minutes and 59 seconds, pulling away in the second half of the course from world runner-up Filippo Barizza, winner of the previous edition. Third place went to Michele Ermacora of GS Aquileia. First among the women was Luisa Casagrande of Atletica Vittorio Veneto.
The course, around 7 km long, wound through Val Saisera and was less demanding yet even more scenic than last year, treating the roughly 150 participants in the non-competitive event to truly unique landscapes. In the Dog Trekking event—a race for dog and owner—Luca Di Bert took victory ahead of Claudio Bortolami and Daniela Festa.
The most spectacular highlight, however, was Saturday evening’s night hike, where nearly 200 people, accompanied by guides from the Valcanale Ski School, ascended Val Saisera beneath a starry sky in a truly magical setting.
Over the weekend, dozens of people also took advantage of the opportunity to go on guided rides on Fat Bikes—bicycles with extra-wide tires specially designed for riding on snow.
