Skipass Modena, all the information on the 2016 winter tourism exhibition

Winter is just around the corner and, punctual as a Swiss watch, the unmissable appointment returns with Skipass, the tourism and winter sports exhibition that brings ski and snowboard enthusiasts to Modena every year to discover the latest news for the upcoming ski season.

With thousands of visitors each year, Skipass Modena is Italy’s largest and most important trade fair dedicated to the world of snow and is also a major benchmark at the European level, with several foreign ski resorts and brands actively participating with exhibition booths and initiatives.

Getting to the heart of the matter, what is new at Skipass 2016?

What’s New at Skipass 2016

Like any self-respecting trade fair, new features are introduced every year and Skipass is no exception. Here are the highlights of this 2016 edition:

  • Saturday, October 29, special late opening until 11:00 PM
On the opening day of the twenty-third edition of Skipass, adrenaline and fun continue until late evening. The outdoor area of the fair lights up and comes alive with music, entertainment, and sports. Scheduled on the completely revamped rail is the final of the international freeski contest “Rail Skills”. Pavilions remain open with dozens of events at the booths to talk about mountains and snow holidays.
  • Non-stop skiing and snowboarding
4 days of sports, with competitions, exhibitions, and free trials. A non-stop event program with something new: Skipass 2016 discovers new talents. For the first time, the rail in the center of the outdoor area, traditionally reserved for pro riders, will be open to young riders of the “World Rookie Tour” and “Skipass Sponsor Me”. And for those who want to learn to ski and snowboard, the Ski and Snowboard School experience continues on the snow-covered slope with equipment and instructors provided free of charge by the Skipass organization.
  • Skipass Kids, family-sized snow
Skipass Kids is the new family-friendly dimension of Skipass: a new child-sized area with special content, holiday offers, educational play activities, creative workshops, and entertainment. All topped off with the charm of TV’s most beloved characters! Winx Club, Masha and the Bear, Angry Birds, Mia and Me, the Smurfs, and the legendary Scrat from “Ice Age” are the stars of Skipass Kids 2016. Admission to the fair is free for children up to 12 years old. What are you waiting for? Take a look at the schedule and get ready to experience the thrill of the mountains with Skipass Kids!
  • BMX, Skipass doubles the fun
The presence of Alessandro Barbero and the Kobra Team at Skipass 2016 is confirmed. The athlete from Ceva will be one of the main stars of the two-wheel area with a thrilling BMX show. Barbero and the full Kobra team will put on a top-level performance on the structures used in hit TV shows like Italia’s Got Talent. Breathtaking flips, spins, and tricks from one of the stars of the international BMX scene. Absolutely not to be missed.
  • Lo Zoo di 105 arrives!
4 days of music, entertainment, and gags with the boldest and funniest DJs. Taking turns at the console will be performances by Paolo Noise, Wender, Ivo Avido, and Herbert Ballerina.
Joining them will be Andy Love from Top DJ, the Italia 1 talent show, and Roby Giordana from Revolution Radio Miami, who will broadcast the Skipass show on American frequencies and via online audio streaming.
A true festival taking place in the outdoor area of the fair where, next to the ski slopes and freestyle structures, a special ‘cage’ will be set up: the Puff Stage, a 600-square-meter transparent pavilion with lights, giant screen, bar, and lounge area.
