Final day of Skipass 2016, the big names of Snowboarding arrive

After 3 fantastic days of institutional meetings and top-level sporting events, we head into the final day of Skipass 2016, which will be dedicated to major sporting events.
In Pavilion C, bouldering will dominate the scene with the Men’s and Women’s Italian Championship: the strongest athletes on the Italian scene in this discipline will be present, such as Stefano Ghisolfi and Marcello Bombardini for the men, and Claudia Ghisolfi for the women.
During the day, enthusiasts will still be able to try out the wall and test themselves in sport climbing, as well as compete in strength and endurance trials with the champions of the sector. In the outdoor area, instead, space will be given to Street Fighter, the great international event dedicated to snowboarding.

For its final opening day, Skipass continues to be a true snow fun park for young and old alike: all the facilities in the outdoor area, from the ice skating rink to the cross-country skiing loop, from the downhill slope to snowtubing, will be available to visitors.

For the little ones, the balance bike course is a must-try, along with the two-wheel-themed mountain bike course. Indoors, in the Skipass Kids space, entertainment and fun are guaranteed, in addition to a meet-and-greet with the legendary Scrat from Ice Age, who will arrive at the fair to take photos with his young fans.

Street Fighter, the greats of snowboarding at Skipass

As per tradition, the top event on the final day of Skipass is Street Fighter, the snowboard competition reserved for the greatest international champions of the board.
Competing on the beautiful and spectacular F-Tech structure, which in recent days has also hosted Rail Ski LLS, the Italian leg of the World Rookie Tour and, today, the Snowboard Rail Jam, will be 24 athletes from all over Europe.

The first 12 were invited by the organizers: the final rider list features outstanding names from the international scene, such as Dominik Wagner of Team Nitro, already a star at Skipass in previous years. Other familiar faces at the Modena event include Ethan Morgan of Team Bataleon and Flo Corzelius of Team Salomon. Also from Team Salomon is Alberto Planchon, an outsider in the competition who arrives at Street Fighter thanks to the Wild Card earned last winter at The Cage on Monte Cimone. For Team Burton, the session of Clemens Millauer, a promising young snowboarder, is highly anticipated.
Great anticipation also surrounds Len Jørgensen, Simon Pircher, Simon Houlind and the very young Florian Fischer, fresh winner of the Modena leg of the World Rookie Tour, held just yesterday on the Skipass rail.

Rounding out the group are the best snowboarders from the Snowboard Rail Jam: alongside the podium finishers, consisting of Rene Rinnerkangas, Max Zebe and Marvin Salmina, returning to compete tomorrow will be Mauro Bisol, Michele Lobrano, Fabian Fraidl, Max Glatzl, Lorenzo Peeter, Zoltan Stracul’a, Lorenzo Framarin, Elio Fumagalli and Steve Kuberl.
