La Thuile, February 4, 2019 – Solidarity is right at home in La Thuile and hits the slopes on March 30 with the 24th edition of Diamo una manche al Telefono Azzurro, the traditional charity event that will once again see scores of ski and snowboard enthusiasts compete in two exciting races in support of Telefono Azzurro, the organization that for over 30 years has been dedicated to protecting and supporting children and adolescents who are victims of abuse and mistreatment, while advocating for children’s rights.
Both races—an Alpine Skiing Giant Slalom and a Snowboard Giant Slalom—are open to children, adults, ski instructors, and ranked athletes (each race consists of a single run). Competitors in the Super-Super Baby, Baby, and Snowboard categories will race on slope no. 16 Standard, while the remaining categories will compete on slope no. 9 Chaz Dura. Start time is at 9:30 a.m.
The award ceremony for the top three finishers will take place in the afternoon at 3:00 p.m. on the stage set up in Piazza delle Funivie, followed by a generous prize raffle open to all bib holders.
The registration fee is €25.00 until Friday, March 29, 2019, and €30.00 on race day. All race participants will receive a goodie bag with gifts provided by the sponsors and will also be eligible for a discounted daily skipass at €36.00 instead of €42.00 (to claim the discount, simply present your race bib and registration name at the Funivie Piccolo San Bernardo ticket offices).
This event, whose proceeds will be donated to Telefono Azzurro, is held under the patronage of the Autonomous Region of Valle d’Aosta – Office of the President of the Regional Government and organized in collaboration with Società Funivie Piccolo San Bernardo, Scuola di Sci La Thuile, the Municipality of La Thuile, and Consorzio Operatori Turistici La Thuile.
