Alta Quota 2014, from October 10 to 12 at the Bergamo Fair

Having celebrated its tenth anniversary with 47,000 enthusiasts in attendance, ALTA QUOTA returns from October 10 to 12 at the Bergamo Fair to “open” the new winter season. From the most traditional offerings to the most extreme and original proposals, the many fans of Promoberg’s mountain exhibition will once again find a rich indoor exhibition area showcasing the latest industry innovations, paired with a large outdoor area dedicated in particular to outdoor sports disciplines.

Among the exhibitors, the contingent from France is growing with the arrival of new tourist resorts. New technical brands are also arriving from France as well as from Portugal. One of the main features that has defined the history of Alta Quota is its ability to stay up to date, offering new products, services, and initiatives at every edition. Eagerly awaited by the public, this year’s event will once again present the latest innovations in the sector, including several national premieres.

For everyone wishing to bring home the best images of unforgettable mountain excursions or activities, Alta Quota presents Canon Academy. Thanks to new sponsor CANON, one of the world leaders in digital cameras, visitors will be able to take part in courses and workshops to learn the techniques for capturing extraordinary outdoor photos.

For the most dynamic experienced enthusiasts or for those wishing to try out new open-air sports disciplines for the first time, the outdoor area of ALTA QUOTA 2014 will offer free access to eight dedicated areas set up to promote some of the most popular outdoor disciplines in the best possible way. Alongside the confirmed bouldering wall, sport climbing wall, orienteering, Nordic walking, alpine skiing, mountain biking and skyrunning (with product testing opportunities), BMX, and slacklining, another new addition to the AQ2014 lineup stands out: the “Pump Track”. Also on the theme of open-air activities, in recognition of ALTA QUOTA’s important contribution to promoting the outdoors in Italy, the ITALIAN OUTDOOR GROUP will bring to the Fair the “Spirito Outdoor” project, an exhibition area to start daydreaming about the many sports activities that can be enjoyed in the open air. The Italian Outdoor Group is the Italian association bringing together some of the most renowned Italian and international outdoor gear and apparel brands.

AQ also means a packed calendar of side events, including the eagerly awaited sessions at the Meeting Point with leading figures of the Mountain world. Among the guests of the 2014 edition is ANGELIKA RAINER, three-time world ice-climbing champion: at AQ she will present her latest video filmed in Canada. Also noteworthy is the presence of the White War Museum, featuring publications and documents marking the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War.

To promote the very best of the Mountains and make it accessible to its many enthusiasts, once again this year admission to Alta Quota is free of charge: another great reason not to miss this major event in Bergamo celebrating the beauty of the Mountains and outdoor sports!
