Being the very first to ski down slopes freshly groomed to perfection by snowcats and carving the first tracks of the day, descending from over 2,000 meters of altitude as the sun rises over the Brenta Dolomites.
This is the magical experience offered by Trentino Ski Sunrise, an initiative promoted by the Trentino Tourism Board scheduled for Saturday, February 22 in Madonna di Campiglio.
A fantastic descent at the first light of dawn in the Madonna di Campiglio ski area, paired with a hearty sweet and savory breakfast.
Here is the schedule for Saturday, February 22, 2014:
7:00 AM Meeting point c/o Spinale Gondola.
The first light of the new day begins to brighten the Campiglio basin. The town is still waking up, not yet stirred by the bustling pace of the ski day that is about to begin. For once, it feels wonderful to be the first skiers of the day and wake up the resort!7:15 AM – Ascent to Spinale.
All aboard the gondola, which climbs through the still-dim forest and gradually reveals Madonna di Campiglio below you and, little by little, like a theater curtain rising, the Brenta Dolomites all around.7:30 AM – Gathering at the top of Spinale and departure on skis.
Here you are, you have reached the summit! But don’t buckle your boots right away—first take a moment to enjoy the Brenta Dolomites lit up by the first rays of the sun. The light effect is incredible: they look diaphanous, like enchanted mountains!
Still, you cannot stand admiring the view for too long—it is time to ski, that is what you are here for! The ski instructors are ready to divide you into groups and guide you down the slopes of Monte Spinale. Which runs? Spinale Diretta (no. 73, red), Fortini (no. 77, red), and Grotte (no. 79, blue)8:00 AM – Healthy and hearty breakfast at CHALET FIAT.
Usually breakfast marks the start of the day… in this case we can call it a second start! After carving the first tracks on the snow of Campiglio, you can now refuel and savor the many wholesome, authentic products that Val Rendena has to offer, always surrounded by the marvelous scenery of the Dolomites.8:30 AM – Ski return to Madonna di Campiglio.
Daylight is now in full swing, the village has resumed its usual pace, and the other skiers are heading toward the lifts… and what about you? After a start like this, going back to bed is out of the question! Especially since all 150 km of the ski area are at your disposal!

The cost is €20.00 for adults and includes the lift ride up, the guided descent with ski instructors, and breakfast. Free for children up to 8 years old.
Note: In the event of strong winds or adverse weather conditions that prevent the lifts from opening or compromise participant safety, the event will be cancelled with a full refund. Any cancellation will be communicated via SMS to participants by 4:30 PM on the Friday prior to the event.
