International champions and top skiers are getting ready to put on a show at Plan de Corones in the third edition of the RED BULL KRONPLATZ CROSS, the world skicross contest for teams of Pro and amateur skiers, taking place on the Gassl slope in Valdaora on Friday, February 7 and Saturday, February 8. Among the stars expected is the great Italian slalom champion Giorgio Rocca.
Thrills, excitement, music, and fun—and above all speed and adrenaline—are guaranteed in the head-to-head duels of the skicross format, the most gripping discipline in skiing, which starting this year pits two skiers against each other simultaneously on the same course in an original relay format.
There will be no shortage of aerial action over the jumps and along the banked turns of the course, including the brand-new Looping feature, showcasing both individual technical skills and team strategy. The hunt for the most coveted pro and amateur team title in skicross is open: everything is set for the battle among 62 Teams.
Among the favorites are Team France (2013 winner), Team Switzerland, and Team Italy (1st in 2012), along with the highly anticipated debut of 3 fiercely competitive Colmar Teams.
The schedule kicks off on Friday with the training session, followed from 8:00 PM by the qualifying runs (one-on-one). On Saturday, the finals take place from 8:30 PM to 10:30 PM, followed by the awards ceremony and the Red Bull Kronplatz Cross Party—an explosion of driving beats for an unmissable weekend.
