Ski lift closings

Skiing continues on the Asiago Plateau, lifts open until May

The Asiago Plateau is not packing away its winter season just yet, taking advantage of favorable weather and climate conditions to extend what has so far been an excellent ski season.
The first snowfalls reached Asiago in the final days of November and continued throughout December, leading to a sold-out Christmas filled with skiing, plenty of snow on the slopes, and ideal temperatures. After last year’s disastrous winter, tourists flocked in large numbers to enjoy the snow across the Plateau’s ski resorts—from Monte Verena, Kaberlaba, Melette, and Valbella to the new Val Formica area, with lifts open everywhere.
It was a true breath of fresh air for the plateau’s tourism operators and a source of great satisfaction for skiers and snowboarders, no longer forced to ski on artificial snow amid autumn landscapes.

Not only did winter close on a high note, but spring is also delivering superb conditions for ski tourism, which seems unstoppable this year: early-spring snowfalls have not only kept the snowpack intact, but have also contributed to an increase in snow depths both at high altitude and in the valley, even exceeding 2 meters above 2,000 m.
Even though the Easter holidays are over, resort operators have decided not to let all this snow go to waste and have postponed lift closures until further notice. Skiing continues across the Plateau, with the ski resorts of Monte Verena and Val Formica (Cima Larici) leading the way by scheduling ski lift operations for every weekend in April, including the May 1 long weekend.
The goal is to repeat the achievement of 2009, when the season on Monte Verena continued right up to May 15, the final day of skiing. Matching that date will be tough, but the Plateau will certainly do everything possible to offer slopes in great condition right through the end of the month.

Please also remember that until the end of the season a 10% discount voucher is available for a Monte Verena daily ski pass, which you can download on this page > http://www.mondoneve.it/sconto-skipass-asiago/
