La Thuile: the ski season starts on December 1

La Thuile opening

La Thuile openingThe mountains of the Aosta Valley are once again dressed in their winter coat thanks to heavy snowfall brought by the weather system nicknamed “Medusa”. The land of Mont Blanc and Monte Rosa welcomes the white lady, making it possible to kick off the 2012/2013 ski season.
Preparations are in full swing on the ski slopes across the region, and particularly in the La Thuile ski area, which will be among the first to open its doors.
The start of the season is scheduled for December 1, 2012, with the opening of the ski lifts in the Les Suches-Chaz Dura sector. There are 6 slopes available for skiers and snowboarders; however, the snowfall of the past few hours could bring pleasant surprises with additional slopes opening as early as the opening weekend.

Slopes open on the weekend of December 1–2:

  • Chaz Dura
  • Gran Testa
  • Piloni
  • Terres Noires
  • Promenade
  • Boulevard

For this start of the season, the La Thuile ski area has decided to lower the price of the daily ski pass, which will cost only €20 on Saturday, December 1, and Sunday, December 2.
