The curtain rises on Alta Quota, the mountain fair which this year reaches its 8th edition.
After seven years of uninterrupted climbing, Alta Quota returns in 2011, from Friday September 30 to Sunday October 2, aiming to confirm itself as an unmissable event for all fans of “planet mountain”. An event entirely dedicated to the mountains, which has found in the capital of the Orobic Pre-Alps an area rich in mountain lovers, some of whom have joined the world’s climbing elite.
Among the event’s strengths is its dynamism: it always keeps up with the times, responding to the trends of the outdoor market and to the passions of the thousands of visitors who crowd the halls of Fiera Bergamo every year.
“The event – explains Alessandro Pagnoni, creator and organiser of Alta Quota on behalf of Ente Fiera Promoberg – aims to continue the path of steady growth recorded in recent years, both in terms of the number of exhibitors and of visitors. Despite this particularly difficult period for companies, we are convinced that our fair can offer new opportunities for exhibitors and strong reasons of interest for the public. Investing in the fair means investing in yourself, above all because visitor numbers have been growing ever since the first edition”.
Confirming the growth of the event is the presence of the traditional, renowned Italian ski areas, together with a massive representation of foreign tourism consortia from all over the Alpine arc. From France, confirmations have so far arrived from Chamonix, Vallorcine, Orelle, Les Menuires and Pays des Ecrins, with the new addition of Les Sybelles, which brings together no fewer than 7 ski resorts in one of the largest French ski areas. There will also be important participants from Switzerland, with the resorts of the Canton of Ticino and Engadina (Corvatsch and St. Moritz above all), not to mention the participation of the Austrian Tyrol, which geographically closes, to the east, the substantial tourist offering of ALTA QUOTA 2011.
In addition to the promotion of ski lifts and ski slopes, lovers of “après-ski” will be able to find interesting “wellness” offers from hotels that will be presenting their spa centres located in Alpine resorts. For fans of outdoor activities and sports, at Alta Quota you will find the latest new products on the market, with the participation of the leading national manufacturers and distributors of technical equipment and clothing (alpine skiing, snowboarding, mountaineering, trekking, Nordic walking,..). There will be “field” tests of the products on display, thanks to an outdoor area featuring a new mountain bike trail, which will be used to host the two “newcomers” of the 2011 edition: orienteering and trail running.
The event is still several weeks away, but you can already sense that it is not to be missed! For more information you can visit the official website www.alta-quota.it
