Excellent Snow Conditions: The Ski Season Continues in the Tuscan Apennines

The ski season continues not only in the Alps but also in the Apennines: snow conditions are excellent, all resorts are open, and the weekend forecast finally promises sunny weather.
Snow depth exceeds one meter at many resorts, allowing operators to look ahead to Easter with confidence.

The snow report leaves no room for doubt—here are some key figures:
In the Abetone ski area, snow depth reaches 100/200 cm, with 16/17 lifts open. Both the snowparks and the cross-country trails are open.

In the Monte Amiata ski area, snow depth ranges from 40 to 110 cm, with 5/8 lifts open: the Cantore and Macinaie chairlifts and the Jolly, Crocicchio, and Asso di Fiori surface lifts are operating, providing access across the entire resort. Additional lift openings are scheduled for the weekend.

The Marsiliana and Marsiliana-Macinaie (4.5 km) and Pian della Piscina (1 km) cross-country trails are open.
Cutigliano: snow depth 80/100 cm, 4/4 lifts open. Night skiing on Saturday evening.
Garfagnana: snow depth 40/110 cm, 6/6 lifts open. All cross-country trails at Passo Radici are open.
Zeri: snow depth 80/100 cm, 3/3 lifts open. Snowshoeing and cross-country trails are open.

Scheduled events

On Saturday at Abetone: Full Moon Party, dinner at Rifugio Monte Gomito, and a moonlit ski descent. Every Saturday evening, the Selletta slope is open and reserved for ski mountaineers and snowshoers, with both the mountain hut and the lift open from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
In Zeri on Saturday and Sunday: complimentary pasta party on the snow for all guests when the lifts close (5:00 p.m.).

In short, now more than ever, the Tuscan Apennines offer well-covered slopes and mid-winter scenery.
