The ski resorts where you can keep skiing in April and May

Skiing in April and May

skiing april mayFor many ski resorts the season ended on Easter Monday, while for others the final day with open lifts was Sunday, April 12, and many skiers have already put their skis and snowboards away.
However, the ski season is not over yet, and several resorts will keep their lifts open over the coming weeks; the destinations where you can ski throughout April and May are varied and stretch from east to west. In the second half of spring, the scene is dominated by high-altitude resorts and especially glaciers—destinations like Solda or the Presena Glacier, which in the dead of winter do not record huge crowds due to the harsh climate, but in late spring offer the best snow and views.

Let’s get to the heart of the matter with a focus on the ski resorts where you can ski throughout April and May 2015:

Sella Nevea – Friuli Venezia Giulia
It is one of the snowiest ski resorts in Italy and the only ski destination in Friuli offering well-snow-covered slopes until late in the season. Sella Nevea will remain open until April 26, and with over 230 cm of snow you can ski across the entire resort except for the “Azzurra 1” slope; lift opening hours are 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM.
