Ski lift closings

6 meters of snow, lift closures postponed in Friuli Venezia Giulia

Friuli Venezia Giulia ski lift closing

friuli venezia giulia ski lift closuresThere is no shortage of snow in Friuli Venezia Giulia, one of the regions that benefited most from the snowstorms of December and January. Meters upon meters of snow fell here: to be precise, a record 7 meters on Monte Canin was reached in the ski resort of Sella Nevea—so much snow that the village was cut off for a few days and snowcats even had to be deployed to clear the roads.

Since mid-February, fair weather has also won over the Friulian Dolomites and the Julian Prealps, giving a huge boost to the ski season with slopes in perfect condition from Tarvisio to Piancavallo, and from Forni di Sopra to Zoncolan.
All the ski areas still have plenty of snow, so the lift company Promotur has decided to extend the ski season across all resorts.

The official decision is to extend the lift operating schedule across all Promotur resorts continuously until April 6 and, weather permitting, for the following weekend as well (April 12 and 13).
After April 13, only the Sella Nevea resort will remain open, where the winter season will end on April 27.

More than a month of skiing lies ahead, along with an Easter on the snow in the Sella Nevea ski area!
