The ski season at the San Domenico ski area continues and looks far ahead. The heavy snowfalls of this winter season have brought a full 5 meters of snow at high altitude—so much that the lift company of the Piedmont ski area has decided to extend the season until mid-May, with the lift closing scheduled only for May 12.
San Domenico joins Livigno in choosing to carry the ski season right up to the doorstep of summer, although the Piedmont ski resort will keep its lifts open only on weekends.
San Domenico opening schedule:
- Saturday 12, Sunday 13, and Monday 14 April
- Thursday 17, Friday 18, Saturday 19, Sunday 20, Monday 21 April
- Friday 25, Saturday 26, Sunday 27, Monday 28 April
- Saturday 3, Sunday 4, Monday 5 May
- Saturday 10, Sunday 11, Monday 12 May
Openings will depend on weather and snow conditions, but barring any unusual changes, you will be able to ski comfortably both at Easter and during the first two weekends of May.
Good news for all skiers and decidedly bucking the trend compared to other resorts that have decided to close their doors despite the abundant amount of snow still on the slopes.
