Sestriere opening

sestriere openingThe ski season in the Vialattea mountains will officially open on Saturday, December 13. This weekend it will be possible to ski in the Sestriere and Sauze d’Oulx areas.
Here is the opening schedule; the lifts open in the Sestriere area will be:
Jolly magic carpet, Principi magic carpet, Baby ski lift, Cit Roc chairlift, Garnel chairlift, Sises ski lift, Trebials chairlift, Nuova Nube chairlift, Orsiera ski lift, Motta ski lift, and Pattemouche cable car. The Nube d’Argento chairlift will go into operation in the event of high turnout.

The Kandahar, Principi, Borgata, and Pattemouche ticket offices will be open.
The ticket price for this area will be 28.00 euros.
The Pragelato-Banchetta ski pass will also be on sale at the Pattemouche ticket office at a price of 23.00 euros.

In the Sauze d’Oulx area, the open lifts will be:
Prariond-Sportinia chairlift (for uplift and downhill ride without skis on), Rocce Nere chairlift, and Bourget ski lift. The Triplex chairlift will go into operation in the event of high turnout.
The Prariond and ABC ticket offices will be open.
The ticket price for this area will be 20.00 euros.

At the moment, overall snow conditions are good though understandably not yet optimal. Over these four days of suitable temperatures, the Via Lattea snowmaking system has produced 400,000 cubic meters of snow across the entire ski area.
After the weekend, the skiable area in Sestriere will be scaled back in order to best prepare the slopes ahead of the upcoming Christmas holidays.

The ski area has announced that if weather conditions allow programmed snowmaking to continue, the goal is to open the Sestriere-Sauze d’Oulx connection on December 20 and the Vialattea on December 23.
