In the Alto Adige ski area, the season is starting behind schedule, but finally thanks to the snowfalls of the past few hours, skiing is back on the slopes at the foot of the Ortles and Gran Zebrù.
While 1 meter of snow fell across the Austrian Alps just across the border in recent days, only a light white dusting remained on the slopes of Solda, which was then swept away by the wind. Thanks to the low temperatures, the artificial snowmaking systems were activated, although they were not sufficient on their own to prepare the slopes.

Artificial snow can now combine with the natural snow that has been falling non-stop since late Tuesday afternoon; while it has been snowing at high altitude for days, in the valley snow arrived only yesterday evening, still leaving a few centimeters of fresh snow on the ground (see Solda snow webcams)
The Solda ski lifts will open their doors on Saturday, November 8; skiers will be able to ski on the high-altitude slopes accessible via the cable car departing directly from the village. The ski area will open at 8:30 am and the price for an adult daily ski pass will be €35.
