In the Tre Valli ski area (Moena-Alpe Lusia, Passo San Pellegrino and Falcade), the freezing night-time temperatures have allowed the lift operators to start up the snowmaking systems. Thanks to the work of the snow guns, the ski season will officially get under way on Sunday, December 4 with the opening at Moena-Alpe Lusia of the Fiamme Oro run, on the stretch from Le Cune to Val Bona, a red run that winds through the woods and is very popular with skiers.
Along with the Ronchi-Valbona-Le Cune gondola lift, the Chalet Valbona will also open, a splendid panoramic spot where you can stop for a break between one run and the next.
“The weather experts have forecast some snowfall in the coming days,” explains Umberto Anzelini, president of S.I.F. Lusia Spa, a company belonging to the Tre Valli Consortium. “Our hope is to be able to guarantee early-snow enthusiasts access to a large part of the ski area at least for the Immaculate Conception long weekend, the traditional time to hit the slopes at Tre Valli.”
