Between 5 and 20 cm of fresh snow fell on the slopes of the Dolomiti Superski area, where so far the season had only started in 3 resorts: Plan de Corones, Cortina, and Passo San Pellegrino.
Thanks to this latest snowfall, another ski resort is about to open its doors: we are talking about Val di Fassa, which is preparing to kick off the season with the opening of the lifts on the Belvedere in Canazei, accessed by the gondola lift departing from the town center and reaching the high-altitude slopes.
Starting on the evening of December 7, snow cannons went into action for artificial snowmaking and, thanks to a good layer of snow above 2000 meters, on Wednesday, December 10 the Belvedere ski area in Canazei will open three lifts (in addition to the Belvedere gondola to Pecol and the Col dei Rossi cable car, which are already running): the Toè gondola and the Belvedere and Sass Becé chairlifts. Skiers will thus be able to enjoy their first turns of the season on the Belvedere and Sass Becé slopes and return to Pecol via the Toè lift.
If temperatures remain low over the coming days as well, additional ski runs in the valley are likely to open.
