Modena Skipass 2020: the tourism and winter sports trade fair will go ahead

NOTE: FAIR CANCELLED FOLLOWING THE GOVERNMENT DECREE ON COVID PANDEMIC CONTAINMENT

Once again in 2020, the Modena show will be the benchmark event for industry insiders, professionals, athletes, and enthusiasts.

From October 26 to November 1, 2020 – Modena Fiera

www.skipass.it

It will be one of the first live events since lockdown, and for that very reason it will be special: a Restart Edition. The fair will bring together all the leading operators in the winter tourism and sports sector, and Skipass will inevitably send a strong signal of recovery.

Restarting from winter, and Skipass is here.

The show, which welcomed 80,000 visitors last year, will focus on engaging and exciting content as well as its exhibition area: sporting goods companies and specialist stores will be on hand for enthusiasts.

Industry companies, ski resorts, lift operators, associations, ski clubs, instructors, tour operators, and naturally athletes will all gather at Skipass.

This meaningful edition of Skipass has been made possible—despite the difficulties of the historical period we are living through—thanks to the utmost commitment of all stakeholders involved, and in particular thanks to the well-established partnership between ModenaFiere and FISI.

POOL SCI ITALIA

Alongside Skipass in this Restart Edition, Pool Sci Italia could not be missed—the consortium bringing together the 25 top brands in the snow market and official suppliers to the Italian National Alpine Ski Teams.

The Pool will bring 19 of its brands to the fair:

  • Atomic
  • Blizzard
  • Dalbello
  • Dynastar
  • Energiapura
  • Fischer
  • Gabel
  • Head
  • Komperdell
  • Lange
  • Level
  • Look
  • Marker
  • Nordica
  • Rossignol
  • Salomon
  • Tecnica
  • Uvex
  • Volkl

Skipass will also be the occasion for the Pool to present the Prove Libere Tour 20/21, a traveling roadshow that will allow enthusiasts to test the latest ski equipment.

TOURISM

One of the beating hearts of the event—the area dedicated to tourism—will also be present. Once again this year, Italy’s leading winter tourist destinations will attend Skipass: Piedmont, Trentino, Aosta Valley, Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany, and the mountains of Lombardy

Ski resorts, hotels, resorts, and tour operators specializing in winter tourism and sports, from the Alps to the Apennines, will bring their best deals to Skipass, available for purchase directly at the fair. There will be options for every taste: for families and young people, for those who love relaxation and those who prefer adrenaline.

Ample space will be dedicated to the Emilia-Romagna and Tuscany pavilion, managed by Apt Servizi, where Radio Bruno will also be present.

Skipass thus confirms its role as a privileged showcase for anyone looking to plan a snow holiday.

FISI

Once again this year, the Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI) has chosen Skipass to kick off the competitive season.

FISI will be present with a large stand in the center of Hall A, where it will renew memberships for the 2020/2021 season and host numerous athletes, as well as organizing the traditional Festa degli Azzurri on Saturday 31 at 5:00 p.m. featuring the Athlete of the Year award—all in full compliance with anti-Covid-19 protocols.

Thanks to a series of surveys conducted both across the 61 main Italian winter mountain destinations and through polls and interviews with winter sports practitioners and beyond, the Observatory is able to provide insights and trends among Italians, indicators for individual sports disciplines, new profiles of tourists and day users, trends for the upcoming winter, and more.

ANEF

This year ANEF, the Association of Cableway Operators, will be present at Skipass. The association’s general assembly will take place right at the fair, addressing all the most pressing current topics.

COVID SAFETY

Right from the start, ModenaFiere’s goal has been to organize a safe event for visitors and exhibitors, in strict compliance with anti-Covid-19 protocols.

Everyone entering the fairgrounds will have their temperature checked via thermal scanners, wearing a mask will be mandatory across all areas of the fair, and numerous hand-sanitizing stations will be available.

A medical station will operate throughout the entire event and numerous checks will be in place to prevent crowding.

Arriving and departing visitors will use separate entrances and exits, and all restaurants and bars inside the exhibition center will observe social distancing rules. Furthermore, all booths have been reorganized to ensure proper distancing.

In this regard, a video produced by ModenaFiere dedicated specifically to safety at the fair is available for everyone on the Skipass website.

Tickets will be available for purchase both online and at the fair, though the entire pricing structure has been designed to encourage online ticket purchases in order to avoid queues at the box office and monitor visitor flows.
