Ski lift closings

Fresh snow for the final ski weekend at Diavolezza

Winter has returned to the Engadine, and the already green meadows of St. Moritz have given way to the white of snow, which is never in short supply here in winter—and in fact the ski season is not over yet. Skiing continues on the slopes of the Swiss resort thanks to the Diavolezza ski area. One of the first European resorts to open its lifts in autumn, Diavolezza is also one of the last to close.

With the weather front arriving from northern Europe, temperatures here at 3000 meters above sea level dropped to -15 degrees, and snow buried the large terrace overlooking Piz Palü.
With nearly half a meter of fresh snow, preparations are underway for the final weekend of the winter season: the last opening day is in fact May 25, and numerous skiers are expected, eager to experience a run in true winter conditions at the end of May.

While snow accompanies the very last ski days of the season, the St. Moritz tourist board is already looking ahead to next season: the lift opening date for the upcoming season has already been scheduled for Saturday, October 17!
