Monte Verena is one of the snowiest areas on the Asiago Plateau: its ski slopes welcomed the first snow at the end of November, and thanks to its excellent snow cover this ski resort has remained open throughout, effectively saving Asiago’s Christmas season when Sirocco winds brought only rain lower down.
No one, however, could have expected a winter even snowier than the 2008/09 season, which made it possible to ski here until mid-May and close the lifts with over 1 meter of snow on the slopes.
Instead, since December 26, 2013 the Alps have been battered by major snowstorms that have dumped meters upon meters of snow, literally transforming the landscape of several ski resorts.
Among them is certainly the Verena Ski Area, where 4 meters of snow lie on the ground and nearly 8 meters of snow have fallen since the start of the season.
