ski lift openings 2011-2012

Adamello Ski: new slopes and a cross-country skiing loop open this weekend

The snow isn’t coming, but the ski areas of Trentino are not letting themselves be discouraged; among them is Adamello Ski, which is doing everything possible to ensure that people can ski. Thanks to the sophisticated snowmaking system, they have managed to open the Tonalina slope (the one that runs from Tonale to the mid-station of the gondola lift) and, from Saturday, December 3, the Valena slope as well, a lovely “blue” on the Trentino side of the Pass. The Pontedilegno-Tonale gondola lift is also opening its doors.

While the snow guns are at work down in the valley, on the Ghiacciaio Presena there is no need for snowmaking. Here the snow fell abundantly (the snow report shows 2 metres of snow) with the first snowfalls in November and has not gone away since, thanks to the freezing temperatures that never rise above zero. Between 2,500 and 3,000 m above sea level, you can ski on three slopes and on an excellent 3 km cross-country loop.
Not just alpine skiing but also cross-country skiing, in a spectacular setting surrounded by the peaks of the Adamello group.

Like all ski areas, Adamello Ski is feeling the effects of the lack of snow, but thanks to the Ghiacciaio Presena this ski area remains one of the busiest in this winter that never seems to arrive.
