Asiago: lifts open at Verena starting Saturday, November 30

Asiago Verena ski lift opening 2013

asiago verena lifts opening 2013On the Asiago Plateau the ski season is right around the corner: just a few days remain until the opening of the lifts in the Verena Ski Area, where a full 70 cm of fresh snow fell in recent days (see Asiago snow report).

Verena Ski is the highest ski resort on the entire plateau; its ski lifts climb from 1,600 m up to the 2,020 m of Cima Verena, offering slopes of varying difficulty as well as a nursery slope for beginners.
Monte Verena has always been a guarantee of snow: its altitude and exposure make it a snow stronghold that supports tourism on the Plateau even during the most difficult seasons.

Once again in 2013, it is in fact the first area to open its ski lifts on the Asiago Plateau.

The lift opening and the start of the ski season are scheduled for Saturday, November 30: the heavy snow that fell in recent days created the base for the slopes, and this week’s low temperatures (below -10 degrees overnight) allowed the snow cannons to be switched on, working day and night thanks to temperatures remaining constantly below freezing. Slopes will be open both at the base and at the summit, with spectacular snow conditions.

Free Wi-Fi on the ski slopes

One of this season’s new features will be Wi-Fi internet coverage right on the ski slopes of the ski area, allowing skiers to browse the web on their smartphones free of charge between runs. The network has been installed both at the base and at the top, providing full coverage across the ski area.
