Among the countless activities you can enjoy on the snow there are snowshoe walks, which have become very popular in recent years. In particular, on Sunday, January 15 the CiaspDolomitica is back, now in its second edition this year.
The snowfall of January 7 whitened the whole of Val Comelico, providing a course in good condition, ideal for a healthy and fun snowshoe walk.
Really everyone can take part in the CiaspDolomitica: there are several routes of different lengths, which can be chosen when registering:
» 10 kilometers: the snowshoe walk on this route is available in two versions (competitive and non-competitive). Those who present a medical certificate/FIDAL card or the card of another Federation or Sports Promotion Body can register for the competitive event, while anyone can register for the non-competitive one.
» 7.5 kilometers non-competitive: the shortest and flattest route, open to anyone since it is not particularly demanding.
» 16 kilometers non-competitive: this year’s novelty is this version of the snowshoe walk, with registration in pairs, starting and finishing together. The route, however, is more complex and demanding, so registration is recommended for those who already have a basic level of training, to test their endurance. The use of poles is recommended for this route.
The CiaspDolomitica is a much-awaited and well-attended event, so besides the sporting side it will involve many people in distinctive and fun initiatives as well: excursions, music events, food moments and much, much more. On Friday, January 13 and Saturday, January 14 there will be moments for everyone, to make the weekend interesting and fun for all those who love the mountains not only for sport. On Saturday, January 14 the curtain will rise on the miniciaspDolomitica, a snowshoe walk for under-14s organized in collaboration with UNICEF.
