Multiple champion Davide Milesi from Bergamo, Team Baldas, won the fourth edition of the Ciaspolissima, completing the more than 8 km course in 31 minutes and 12 seconds after a thrilling duel with Filippo Barizza from the Veneto, Team TSL Amorini, who gave way to the champion in the final and very technical part of the course. Third was the winner of the first two editions of the Ciaspolissima, Michele Ermacora of GS Aquileia. First among the women was Mirella Bergamo of Teal TSL Amorini, ahead of Susanna De Giorgio and Antonella Derin of ASD Bavisela.
Among the Over 50s, first place went to Pietro Agostinis of Aldo Moro, ahead of Giuliano Barizza and Adriano Grion, while among the women Gabriella Sterni came first, ahead of Alessandra Butti.
Milesi, already the winner of the last edition, congratulated the organisers on the improvements made to the course compared to last year, judging it very varied and selective.
Almost 600 participants took part in the weekend dedicated to snowshoes, which also included a night-time snowshoe walk on Saturday evening and a non-competitive race on Sunday.
The dusting of snow on Friday evening made the setting and the course even more evocative, especially for the night event, which saw a long snake of over 200 snowshoers make its way across the Valbruna plain, specially prepared for the occasion by the Volunteer Firefighters of Ugovizza in collaboration with the Kanaltaler Radfahrer of Malborghetto. On Sunday, a splendid day provided a worthy backdrop to the event, thus rewarding the participants and organisers of this now classic event in the Friulian mountains.
