Lift opening postponed for Corvatsch, skiing resumes on November 23

Corvatsch opening

corvatsch opening postponed Due to mild temperatures and light snowfall at high altitude in recent weeks, the Corvatsch ski area has unfortunately been forced to postpone the opening of its ski season by one week.

Scarce snowfall and mild temperatures throughout October and November have made things difficult for the ski resort, with weather too warm to produce artificial snow and no significant natural snowfall.

The opening of the Swiss resort is now scheduled for Saturday, November 23, 2013, while the start of the ski season at Furtschellas will take place as planned on December 21, 2013, and the first Corvatsch Snow Night will be held on Friday, December 6, 2013.

The postponement of the lift opening at Corvatsch is not an isolated case: the Alps are currently recording above-average temperatures and other ski resorts are also struggling, so all eyes are on how the weather evolves over the coming days.
