Skiing returns to the Dolomiti Superski slopes from November 23

Dolomiti Superski ski lift opening 2013/14

After a long wait, the scent of snow is back in the Dolomites and the ski season is getting closer and closer. Recent snowfalls have transformed the face of these magnificent mountains, dressing them in their winter coat; for now there are only a few centimeters on the slopes, but while waiting for more snow, programmed snowmaking is already underway.

We will not have to wait long to return to skiing in the Dolomites, and the first area to reopen its doors will be Alta Pusteria with the ski slopes of Passo Monte Croce. Here at 1,600 m, snow arrives in November and stays until late spring; thanks to its north-facing exposure, the snowpack is preserved without any issues and the runs are always in good condition.
The opening date is scheduled for November 16 on the slopes of Passo Monte Croce; however, it is not yet confirmed and will depend on temperatures over the coming days.

Following Monte Croce will be other ski areas such as Faloria in Cortina. The biggest wave of lift openings is scheduled for the last day of November when, snow conditions permitting, no fewer than 11 ski areas across the region will open their lifts.
Right on their heels will come the openings of major resorts such as Val di Fassa, Val Gardena, Alpe di Siusi, and Valle Isarco.
