The various activities organised for children by the Ski Schools are getting under way in Folgaria (TN). The miniclubs of the Trentino Carosello give children the chance to get to know the snow through play and in complete safety, thanks to the constant presence of professional entertainers who organise group activities indoors, on the snow and in the bouncy castles or inflatable structures of the three fun parks. The Casa dell’Orsetto in Costa di Folgaria and Monte Maggio in Fondo Grande are paid indoor kinderheims (15% discount with the Altopiano Card) for children aged 4 to 12, with an equipped outdoor area and entertainment service; the first is open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., the second from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. In Serrada, on the other hand, there is an outdoor Baby Park located at the bottom of the Martinella chairlift, ideal for parents who are also die-hard skiers.
First steps on the snow: ski courses for children on the slopes of Folgaria
From December 26, 2011 to January 7, 2012, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, Group Courses are open to “pupils” aged 5 and over: the price is 150 euros for 3 days, plus 10 euros for each additional day. The same option will be offered again on weekdays during the season, but in a different format: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, again from 10 a.m. to 12 noon; Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with lunch in a mountain hut; and Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 noon with a race and prize-giving. Prices start from 95 euros for three days (10 euros for each additional day), but vary according to the season. Equipment hire is taken care of by the many ski rental shops in the ski area. For mums and dads who would like a day of freedom on the slopes, there is the babysitting service at the Casa dell’Orsetto, available all season long for a fee.
