The Gran Premio Giovanissimi 2015 gets underway

Gran Premio Giovanissimi 2015

gran premio giovanissimi 2015For thirty-eight years, AMSI, the Association of Italian Ski Instructors, has promoted the Gran Premio Giovanissimi, considered the most important Italian competitive event dedicated to budding ski champions.
Several factors have contributed to the longevity of the event, above all having guaranteed right from the start the right balance between competition and fun. Indeed, all children are given the opportunity to shine through a series of giant slalom races (alpine skiing) held across the country, while the Nordic skiing event (classic technique cross-country skiing) takes place exclusively during the grand finale.

How the Gran Premio Giovanissimi is structured

Dozens of Ski Schools across the country have opened their doors to young skiers, having them compete against each other. Afterwards, the top finishers, often accompanied by the instructors of the Schools themselves, will experience the thrill of the Regional Stage, races that register an average of 400 to 800 children. At the starting gate this year are children born between 2003 and 2006.

Finally, the young champions finishing in the top 15 of each category, both girls and boys, will advance to the grand finale: the Silver®Care Trophy, scheduled from April 10 to 12, 2015 in Aprica (SO). This final event will be the grand closing celebration of the Gran Premio Giovanissimi, to the delight of all participants who eagerly emulate the feats of so many Italian ski champions who, like them, took part in the Gran Premio: Kristian Ghedina, Karen Putzer, Isolde Kostner, and Elena Curtoni, to name a few.
