From Thursday, October 31 to Sunday, November 3, the Modena exhibition center hosts the twentieth edition of the Nissan Skipass Winter Tourism and Sports Show. For thousands of snow enthusiasts, Nissan Skipass is the flagship event on the Italian trade fair calendar: the benchmark gathering for winter tourism and sporting goods professionals.

live streaming will be active starting Thursday, October 31
Every year, Skipass welcomes 100,000 visitors over the 4-day event, all passionate about the world of winter mountains. This event has become the symbol of the winter season, bringing together ski resorts and ski areas, hotels, lift companies, snowparks, mountain huts, and specialized tour operators from Italy and abroad to preview everything new for the upcoming winter.
Alongside snow tourism is the entire sporting goods sector: skis, bindings, boots, snowboards, goggles, sunglasses, apparel, and accessories take center stage thanks to leading heritage brands showcasing their latest products at their booths.
While major brands attend the fair with their new seasonal collections, ski and snowboard enthusiasts can also take advantage of retailers promoting and selling technical gear in a dedicated hall with attractive trade-fair discounts.
Across the event’s 25,000 square meters, the presence of industry operators is accompanied by a rich lineup of side events that make Skipass an experience to enjoy firsthand, trying out the various activities open to the public and watching top-level competitions and shows.
The setting of snow-covered ramps and large structures simulating a mountain environment is breathtaking: ski slopes, an ice skating rink, rails, and bouldering walls are all open to the public.
The show’s newest initiatives are also confirmed, including a dedicated exhibition area for mountain huts, an outdoor zone featuring bouldering and outdoor gear companies, and snowparks.
What’s new in 2013
Nissan Skipass is revamping its outdoor area, setting up a true mountain village at the Modena exhibition center dominated by the brand-new Ski Area: over 1,600 square meters of skiable terrain open to the public and brand interaction.
Demos, clinics, free ski and snowboard lessons, mini-excursions with snowshoes and climbing skins, competitions, and exhibitions will engage visitors of all ages.
The same goes for the snow and ice trail, where cross-country skiing and sleddog instructors are available to the public for all four days. Rounding out the outdoor area are the ice skating rink, the snowboard and freeski rail, food courts, a giant inflatable airbag, and the Kinder Park, which this year adds special entertainment for young children with Santa Claus Village.
Nissan Skipass official FISI partner
Modena’s Winter Tourism and Sports Show is an official partner of the Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI); as is tradition, for the 2013 edition of Nissan Skipass the halls of Modena Fiere will once again host the Festa degli Azzurri, the traditional awards evening honoring the top athletes and crowning the Athlete of the Year.
Scheduled for Thursday, October 31, the event will be broadcast live on Rai Sport. On Friday, November 1, President Flavio Roda will outline the strategies for the competitive season during a press briefing, while throughout all four days of the show the FISI booth will host athlete meet & greets, conferences, presentations, and public talks.
