Let winter begin: starting Saturday, October 19 it will be possible to start skiing in the Adamello Ski area. Over one meter of fresh snow fell last weekend at the 3,000-meter altitude of the Presena, adding to the snow preserved on the glacier thanks to the protection of geotextile sheets against the summer sun and making it possible to offer ski enthusiasts an early start to the season. Indeed, the winter season will officially begin on October 26: this is a preview of winter while waiting for the real thing.
Starting Saturday, ski enthusiasts heading up to the Presena glacier will find the Presena Destra slope open—a one-kilometer-long red run winding from 3,016 m down to 2,738 m of altitude. The glacier lifts will operate from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM; the daily ski pass costs €27, or €24 for juniors (up to 14 years of age).
