4 awards celebrating the white mountains and their protagonists—Freeride, Freeski, Snowboard, and Snowpark Awards—Skipass, the 21st winter tourism and sports exhibition scheduled at ModenaFiere from October 30 to November 2, focuses on emerging trends to promote mountain culture, a passion for winter sports, and active holidays in contact with nature. Divided into specific categories and organized in collaboration with the trade press, for industry professionals and high-altitude enthusiasts alike the Awards represent a moment to share the most advanced experiences in the sector, the most innovative initiatives, and the best performances of the 2013-2014 winter season.
Ski destinations, winter sports equipment manufacturers, athletes, sportmakers, events, and creatives selected by expert juries are now officially in the running: the winner of each category will be decided by the combined vote of the jury and the public.
“This is a tribute to the White Mountain system, to the vitality and creativity of a sector that on the tourism front alone accounts for 10.8% of the national tourism industry” – explains Paolo Fantuzzi, CEO of ModenaFiere.
“As with other initiatives, we have chosen to involve both experts and everyday enthusiasts, whom we ask to cast their votes online. In keeping with the essence of Skipass, which owes its success to its public-fair format, the Awards also focus on engaging the end consumer and winter sports practitioner, whom we address with high-quality content expressed by ski destinations, companies, athletes, and Italian mountain professionals in general”.
The award ceremonies will take place at the Modena exhibition center during Skipass, on Friday, October 31 (Freeski, Snowboard, and Snowpark Awards) and Saturday, November 1 (Freeride Awards).
