Already dubbed “the Halloween storm,” it will bring heavy rain and heavy snowfalls at high altitude. Unlike “Cassandra,” which came from the north, this storm system will cross Italy from coast to coast, from the Tyrrhenian to the Adriatic, bringing fresh snowfalls to both the Alps and the Apennines.
The first clouds will arrive between Tuesday and Wednesday, and in the morning the first snowflakes will begin to fall. Heavy snowfalls are forecast, though mainly at high altitude, above 2,000 m, even if some experts do not rule out snowfalls at lower elevations, especially in the western sectors of the Alps; snow is also expected in the Apennines, again above 2,000 m.
The storm system will pass through quickly, so on Wednesday night the clouds will leave the peninsula, giving way to a drop in temperatures, especially in the north. Get ready for this new snowfall and for skiing over the All Saints’ Day long weekend under the sign of Fresh Snow!
