Veneto ordinances for mandatory snow chains or winter tires

Mandatory snow chains road

road mandatory snow chainsStarting today, November 15, 2012, the requirement for winter tires or snow chains on board comes into force for driving on Veneto roads.
This is the second consecutive year that Veneto drivers have had to deal with this rule, which is still hard for some to digest, especially given the gaps in information regarding which roads are subject to this requirement and which are not. However, unlike in other regions, for this 2012/2013 winter the ordinances are “fairly clear” and provide for the enforcement of the rule only on certain road sections and in certain areas:

BELLUNO:

  • Provincial Road 22 “Val Sesis” from the junction with Regional Road 355 to the sources of the Piave;
  • SP 24 “Passo di Val Parola” from Passo Falzarego to the provincial border;

  • SP 33 “Sauris” from the junction with SP 619 to the provincial border;
