alta quota snowboardA record-breaking edition for Alta Quota Bergamo 2012: the mountain trade fair shattered every record, drawing a full 39,000 visitors over the 3-day event.
Leading the charge was undoubtedly free admission extended across all days of the event—a new feature appreciated by visitors that certainly shook up the mountain trade fair sector.
Free admission, however, was only one ingredient in the success of Alta Quota 2012: the Mountain Fair organized by Promoberg offered plenty of new features and previews in both tourism and sports. More than 150 exhibitors—including ski resorts, sports equipment manufacturers, sports associations, public bodies, shops, and industry representatives—showcased previews and new products ahead of the winter season.
There was a strong presence from the Lombardy Region and the Province of Bergamo, featuring major ski areas such as Livigno, Adamello, Bormio, and Madesimo alongside smaller yet no less important destinations like Lizzola, Foppolo, and Aprica… Not only Lombardy, but also Trentino Alto Adige with the ski areas of Valsugana Lagorai, Val di Fiemme, Val di Fassa, Civetta Ski, Madonna di Campiglio, the VitaNova hotel consortium, and other hospitality facilities. France, Austria, and Switzerland were also represented with exhibition booths from some of the best-known Alpine ski resorts.

Helping entertain and engage the public were events open to everyone such as the Rail Contest, the Big Air Bag, the mountain bike course, and Nordic walking, as well as talks and conferences at the Promoberg fair meeting point.

We at MondoNeve also attended for the fourth consecutive time and shared our experience in our review.

Initial feedback is positive: despite unfavorable weather conditions, the events took place without major issues and visitors were able to spend 3 days discovering the mountains while strolling among the booths and dedicated areas. Exhibitors were also satisfied, having had the opportunity over these days to present and promote their offerings to a wide audience of enthusiasts looking for information on where to spend their winter holidays and eager to discover the latest technical mountain sports gear.
