demo team interski 2015 Only a few days remain until the start of Interski 2015: the countdown has begun for the Italian delegation taking part in the international ski congress, an event that will be held in Ushuaia (Argentina) from September 5 to 12 with 30 nations participating.

Interski, like the Olympic Games, takes place every four years; for the occasion, all the Ski and Snowboard Schools of the World gather to compare their various techniques and teaching solutions. It is a moment for promoting skiing through a week of workshops and on-snow shows where participants take stock of the situation and see what innovations have entered the market. And that is not all: they also perform spectacular runs representing the highest expression of technical skill, where showmanship and choreography take center stage. In practice, each nation aims to demonstrate what level can be achieved through the most refined technical execution, resulting in top-level, highly spectacular performances.

Representing Italy at Interski will be DemoTeam Italia, the National Ski Instructors Team, flagship of the Italian Ski School. The team is prepared by AMSI – the Italian Ski Instructors Association – in collaboration with FISI (Co.Scu.Ma). The Team is composed of four formations: Alpine Skiing, Nordic Skiing, Snowboarding and Telemark, for a total of 22 members.

When speaking of the Italian Ski School and specifically DemoTeam Italia, we are talking about skiing of the highest technical and educational caliber. The Italian tradition in this field has been top-tier for decades, both in terms of demonstrations—technical skills on the slopes—and the effectiveness of its teaching methods. Italian leadership is recognized internationally, even by nations boasting strong traditions in alpine skiing, such as France, Switzerland, and Austria. All of this is the fruit of the highest professionalism and training, translated into practical and educational teaching methods that allow students to learn quickly and easily.

DemoTeam Italia therefore represents the Italian Ski School and the entire nation worldwide as far as technical and educational instruction is concerned. It also plays an important role as a promotional vehicle for our country’s winter tourism and will serve as the ambassador of our mountains in Argentina.

Maurizio Bonelli, AMSI National President:
“In a few days, in Tierra del Fuego, Argentina, the adventure of Interski 2015 begins—an opportunity for major promotion of the Italian Ski School around the world and a showcase of the high professionalism and training of the Italian ski instructors who make it up”

Snow Conditions in Ushuaia

While in Italy we are facing a scorching summer, on the other side of the equator winter reigns supreme and snow is plentiful in Argentina’s ski resorts. In Ushuaia in particular, snow conditions are very good, with around 90 cm of snow in the valley and 150 cm on the ground at higher altitude.
Excellent conditions for the 2015 edition of Interski!
